Blue Knights Int.© 2004 Blue Knights WI X
Welcome to the Blue Knights WI X Website
The Green Bay Chapter of the Blue Knights was founded in 1979 by police officers from the cities of Green Bay and DePere. There were 7 officers present at the initial meeting. The meeting was held at the Green Bay Police pistol range clubhouse. In order to form a chapter we needed to elect a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 3 Directors. Everyone at the meeting managed to be elected to an office.
The number of members in the club has changed over the years with the rise and fall in the popularity of motorcycling. Our current membership represents several area departments including Green Bay P.D., DePere P.D., Ashwaubenon D.P.S., Wrightstown P.D., Sturgeon Bay P.D., Denmark P.D., Oconto Falls P.D., Door County S.O., Calumet County S.O., Brown County S.O., and the Wisconsin State Patrol. Any officer from Northeast Wisconsin or Upper Michigan may be eligible to join our chapter. The Blue Knights welcomes any make or model of motorcycle. Joining any chapter includes membership in an International Organization.
The Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club was founded in 1974 in Bangor Maine. Since that time it has grown to become an International organization.
As of December 31, 2003, we have 17,300 members in 501 Chapters in 21 countries!
Members represent the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland, England, Austria, Norway, Sweden, and Poland.
According to the By-Laws, our purposes and goals are to:
Provide for the mutual assistance, enjoyment, entertainment, education, physical, mental and social benefit of its members and the general public.
To promote and advance the sport of motorcycling and the safety of motorcycling.
To serve the interests of motorcycle owners and users.
To promote by example and any other acceptable means, safe use, operation and enjoyment of motorcycles.
To develop a fraternal spirit between law enforcement personnel and the general public.
Many Blue Knights work long and hard to raise money for various charities. Especially near to our hearts is helping children. Make-a-Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, D.A.R.E., and Concerns of Police Survivors are some examples of our favorites.
Among the Blue Knight members,"There are no strangers, only friends you haven't met."
